The Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival style complex was constructed by the Waltham Watch Company over half a century starting in the 1860s. The Watch Factory is characterized by a series of narrow wings with regimented rows of windows designed to maximize daylighting for the detailed production of watches.
Just ten miles from Boston, the Watch Factory has an ideal location along the Charles River at 185 Crescent Street in Waltham. The location offers convenient access to the Mass Pike/ I-90, Route 128/ I-95, Route 20, and public transportation. The Watch Factory is a short walk to MBTA Commuter Rail stations and a host of retail and dining establishments on Moody Street.
Downtown Waltham's Moody Street, known as "Restaurant Row" due to the many and diverse eateries, provides an eclectic mix of cuisines that include Indian, Thai, Italian, Spanish, Mexican and American. Moody Street also offers an assortment of unique shops and bars, as well as the Embassy Cinema.
